ANNOUNCEMENTS
Welcome to worship!
With joy we welcome everyone here to the Lord's house. Please greet one another with the warm hand of friendship.

Effie Lutheran has designated August as Roof Fund Month. Anyone who wishes to donate to the new roof may write a check to Effie Lutheran with "Roof Fund" on the memo line or in an envelope marked "Roof Fund." These may be placed in the offering plate or given to the Effie Lutheran treasurer. The Effie Lutheran Church Council thanks you.

The mailboxes for various parish committees, council members and others have moved from the room next to the altar at Bigfork Lutheran to a cabinet in the hallway next to Pastor's office.  Pastor and Lori still have their mailboxes on their doors.  Please help keep the mailboxes neat and check your committee, council boxes, etc. often.  If a mailbox designation has been missed, let Lori know.

You will be reading a number of articles in the next few months about the cooperative work of First Presbyterian, Bigfork Lutheran and Effie Lutheran churches. The leaders are meeting with two big opportunities for our community. The first is to work together to fashion a new community church - one body, one pastor, worshipping the one Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The second is to build a new totally accessible church building for our future community church. There are many reasons that we have started these discussions. The first one is BIBLICAL?WE ARE ONE IN CHRIST!  Other reasons are much more human and practical. We can do more ministry together than separately. We can save money working together. Discussions are continuing, please read newsletters and bulletins.

All kids are invited to bring their backpacks to church on Sunday, September 14!  Pastor Ryan will be blessing the backpacks, sharing a prayer, and helping the kids celebrate the Good News of Jesus in Church, at Home, and even at School!  God bless our kids as they start the school year.

The Release Time Program begins Wednesday, September 17. This year the Protestant Youth will be meeting at Bigfork Lutheran Church. We need volunteers for this special program of the local churches. Talk to Pastor Ryan

Come and Study the Bible with Pastor Ryan
We have two super Bible Studies starting in September.

On Friday, September 12 we start our Brown Bag Bible Study. We meet from noon to 1 p.m. every Friday. Throughout the fall we will study the first 12 chapters of the Gospel according to St. John. The first 12 chapters are known as the Book of Signs. John records seven signs of Jesus to help us know and understand Jesus as the Son of God. Everyone is invited. You don't need to make it each week, but many have found the studies fun and exciting and want to be there each week. You might say, "What should I do to prepare?"  Please read St. John, bring a Bible, bring a sack lunch to munch as we study, and bring a friend (some even bring a spouse)! Come and enjoy.

On Friday, September 26, we start our Men's Breakfast Bible Study.  Pastor Ryan brings some rolls or makes a little breakfast, and then we discuss a portion of Scripture. Pastor Ryan will be starting a study on the Book of Revelation. This is always a tremendous book to study, and with today's added emphasis and misunderstanding of the book, you won't want to miss this study. We meet the FOURTH FRIDAY of the month from 7:30-8:30. Please bring your Bible, a friend and a willingness to study and question what you read.
